April 17th, 2015
St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation Fourth Annual Radiothon for Life
The fourth annual Radiothon for Life was a huge success. The St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation brought in just over $52,500 worth of donations at the Radiothon for Life on Wednesday April 15th.
“We could not be more pleased with the outcome of the radiothon this year” stated Rebecca Cassidy, Executive Director of the Foundation “We are ecstatic with the outpour of generous donations from Southeast Saskatchewan. We had a few large donations, but an overwhelming amount of smaller donations from individuals which really accounted for the large amount of income”
The radiothon started at 6:00 AM on Wednesday April 15th and wrapped up at 6:000 PM. At that time, the total amount was just over $50,000. With an influx of donations coming in during the two days post event, the total amount was brought up to just over $52,000
The radiothon consisted of a BBQ Lunch that was supported by local businesses including Affinity Credit Union and Southern Plains Co-op. The snacks were provided by Tim Horton’s King Street. The BBQ lunch was a huge success serving over 350 people and raising over $2000.
The funds brought in during this event will go towards items on the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation’s wish list which will be determined in the month to come.
The St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation would like thank Access Communications and their staff for supplying the phone lines and the internet, and Golden West Radio station and their staff for hosting this outstanding event.
They would also like to thank Southeast Saskatchewan for their continued support of healthcare at St. Joseph’s Hospital. They would also like to thank the volunteers who came out to support the event. This collaborative effort between volunteers, staff and board members was truly a showcase of the community pride that lives in Southeast Saskatchewan.
